The Features and Applications of 254 SMO Round Bars

254 SMO is a high-performance austenitic stainless steel alloy with high levels of chromium, molybdenum & nitrogen also known by its trade name UNS S31254. The alloy was developed in severe environments such as chemical processing, petrochemical also seawater. 254 SMO Round Bars have excellent corrosion resistance, pitting, and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments.

254 SMO has a high level of resistance to both general corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It has good weldability and formability, which makes it easy to fabricate and use in a wide range of applications.
